Eastec 2011
In May we particiapted in Eastec 2011 in Springfield, MA. It was a terrific show with plenty of visitors and a lot of interest. Our principals participating in our booth with us included ADF Systems, Ltd, parts washers, Tri-Dim Filter Corp. with TriMist Mist Collectors and Industrial Air Filtration Systems and E.O Technics with Laser Marking Systems.
it was a busy three days for all and a great show.
The Cleaning and Maintenance of Electrostatic Precipitator Cells Used In Mist & Smoke Collectors
Electrostatic precipitator cells used in industrial air cleaners when properly maintained and if handled with reasonable care will provide many years of efficient reliable service.
The routine cleaning and maintenance of ESP cells used in industrial air cleaning systems is an important
procedure resulting in long life and maximum overall high efficiency for the system. It is wise to set
up a preventative maintenance schedule for these systems and adhere to it. Doing so will yield long ESP
cell life and high efficiency.

HVAC Filtration Tips
From Tri-Dim Filter Corp.
Five common problems in HVAC filtration systems are:
1. Air Bypass
2. Damaged Filters
3. Plenum Doors
4. System Hygiene
5. Monitoring Resistance
These are not the only problems but they are among the most common. The first, air bypass, simply stated is the air that passes around a filter allowing contaminated air downstream of the filter bank. The results of allowing air bypass include coil fouling, contamination of the air conveyance system, microbal growth, and decrease in filter efficiency. None of these include the detrimental effects on the filtered area. These could include increased product rejection, increased worker absenteeism, and increased nosocomial infections to name a few.
Bypass typically occurs between filters, between the filter and frame, between frame components, plenum door gasketing missing or damaged, missing spacers, damaged filters etc.
Bypass can be easily eliminated by removing all gaps and spaces where air can bypass around the filter bank. Steps to take include gasketing filters, fixing all leaks in the housing/frame system, makeing sure all spacers are properly installed and checking gasketing on plenum doors. Obviously you should replace damaged filters. We will address the other common problems at a future time.
